Property of the Week - The oldest home in Philadelphia

139 Elfreth’s Alley

Philadelphia, PA

Alcove got an amazing opportunity to photograph one of Philadelphia’s oldest homes. The historic Elfreth’s Alley in Old City rarely has homes that go up for sale and this one happens to be the oldest home on the block. The signing of the Declaration of Independence, which happened only a few blocks away, was still 73 years away when this home was built.

It happened to be snowing while we were there but that only added to the picturesque cobblestone street. Check out the photos below to view a true Philadelphia treasure.

"Agent PHL is proud to present, exclusively privately listed for sale on America's Oldest Residential Street: No. 139 Elfreth's Alley. The oldest home on the oldest residential block, this landmark property dates back to 1703 and is the first home on the famous block. There are just 32 homes on the street, and rarely do they come up for sale. No. 139 has been retained under the same exquisite care and maintenance by ownership for nearly 40 years. Lining the cobblestone street, No. 139 greets over 500,000 curious visitors annually and will make a valuable contribution to any investor's real estate portfolio. We envision this property becoming one of, if not the most famous Airbnb rentals in the city, if not the entire USA!
